Lee Hannah is a climate change biologist and senior researcher at CI's Center for Applied Biodiversity Science (CABS). He has authored many articles and coedited a landmark book on climate change – "Climate Change and Biodiversity" – which was honored by Choice magazine in its list of “Outstanding Academic Titles” for 2005.

Hannah's work has taken him around the world, from Hawaii to Madagascar, Brazil, and South Africa. His research is focused on the connections between global climate change and its effects on biodiversity.

Hannah received an undergraduate degree in biology from the University of California at Berkeley and earned his Ph.D. in Environmental Science from UCLA in 1984. He is interested in protected area creation and management, and believes strongly in the importance of considering climate change and biotic communities in conservation corridor design. His work represents a vital link between the worldwide issue of climate change and the local implementation of practical conservation techniques.
